Our Founders

Healing Light Academy is led by Melinda Barss and the Healing Light team—trained in both Western and Eastern health traditions, with a passion for publishing, education, and soul-aligned service.

Courses – certifications

The following courses are a mixture of video and electronic documents for you to complete at your own pace. These courses generally take between 5 – 10 hours alongside applied practice hours completed independently, some via case studies, and these are supervised by Melinda.

Chakras – A foundation level to learn the basics of energy work. You can become a beginner level Energy Worker when you complete this certification course. Cost $200

3. The Reiki Training Certificate Program is done both independently and in person or via case study, and the teacher level allows you to teach and attune students of your own. This certification enables you to be a certified practitioner with the Canadian Reiki Association. It also includes independent practicum to be practiced and completed between each level. Each course takes approximately 10 to 15 hours plus practicum. For online learners, you will be attuned for each level seperately, and consecutively, over live video appointment for each level. Please schedule your attunement after you have completed the learning materials for each level. You MUST have your attunement before you can begin practicing and doing your practice clients.

Reiki Level One: Tibetian & Usui– $300
Reiki Level Two: Tibetian & Usui $300
Reiki Level Three – $350
Reiki Master Teaching Certificate – $500
Optional – Animal Reiki – $75 (prerequisite – Reiki Level One)

4. Tea Leaf Reading MASTER TASSEOGRAPHY PRACTITIONER
– Level One $75

HYPNOSIS/HYPNOTHERAPY Certification- $800
This course is an independent study typically taking 3 – 8 months to complete. There is a case study portion with 100 practicum hours to be completed independently. There is a final exam in which you are required to make at least an 80% to be considered a passing grade and into your new role as a Hypnosis / Hypnotherapist. The exam can be taken at any time during the length in which you are enrolled in the course. You can write it as many times as needed. There is a 100$ fee to write the course a 2nd and additional times. In order to receive certification, you must have passed the exam and Melinda must sign off on the 100 hours of practicum self study.
